A five-element stupa of the type traditionally erected as a Buddhist memorial, carved in the stacked symbolic forms of earth, water, fire, wind, and void, each element inscribed with its corresponding Sanskrit seed character. The lower two elements are of a slightly different stone, indicating that two gorintō were combined at some point, a common repair in a country prone to earthquakes. Good weathered surface with lichen and age throughout.
