The wooden mask netsuke is in the form of Okame. Okame is the goddess of mirth and is said to bring good luck. She is easily identifiable by her full cheeks and is often portrayed in a humorous manner. This netsuke boasts a warm glow after decades of use. A previous catalog ID can be seen on the back.
