An inro is a traditional Japanese case for holding small objects, suspended from the obi worn around the waist when wearing a kimono. These examples, made from leather, were most likely used as medicine containers. The amount of wear reflects their continuous and reliable use. Leather inro are less common than wood, metal, or ivory inro.
