These cones are crafted from handmade Katagami paper, which is produced by layering handmade mulberry paper and soaking it in fermented persimmon juice (known as kakishibu). This process not only enhances the paper's strength and water resistance but also imparts a distinctive smoky fragrance.

Once created, the paper is shaped into cones, operating on a similar principle to a cake decorating tool. When soaked in water, the cones soften, allowing different-sized nibs to be applied. Resist is then placed inside the cone and squeezed through to create designs. After use, the cones are washed, dried, and ready to be reused multiple times.
