Samurai Haori
Samurai Haori
This magnificent Samurai formal Haori dates back to the early to mid 1800s. The jacket is made of dark green asa fiber, a sturdy and durable material that was common before cotton came to dominate Japanese clothing. The intricate rabbit brocade design, created with silk threads, is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans who created it.This Haori also features a mon, or family crest, which is prominently displayed on the back of the jacket. This crest adds a personal touch to the jacket, indicating the identity and status of the samurai who wore it. Despite its age, this Haori is in great condition, preserved for generations to come. There is minor moth damage, and some wear to the silk neck lining, consistent with use.
